When you think of Nike jerseys, you wouldn't expect that they are made of 96% recycled material. This video shows the process of transforming recycled plastic into professional teams' uniforms. This is the first time I've heard that Nike uses recycled material in their products, and I'm surprised they don't advertise this heavier. Nike's reputation was tarnished when they employed children in overseas factories, so advertising the eco-friendly products could help turn this reputation around.
I find this very surprising as well, especially after reading in The Story of Stuff how Nike is a brand name company with lean manufacturing and retail meaning they do everything fast and cheap their products are made over seas in often horrible conditions and shipped here, where the brand owners take in most all of the profit. This video, not only cleverly designed, but also sheds good light on the product should be more viral. I am actually surprised that they haven't made commercials advertising their "green" side to try to remove some of their bad reputation.
Wow!! With being a huge Nike fan, I never knew that they use recycled materials to create jerseys. I personally own 3 Nike NFL jerseys so I am sure they use the same materials to make football jerseys just like the soccer ones.
Nike definitely lost some interest from a lot of people when it came out about employing children over seas. However, creating a video showing their eco-friendly ways is a start at earning peoples interest again.
Wow this video is really insightful and I never knew that Nike jerseys were so recyclable! I like how it keeps its views both educated and entertained throughout, making it just an overall great video.
